as the only son of joon and mirae lee, he was always dubbed as a "miracle baby", as mirae had tried countless times to become pregnant with a healthy baby. after a miscarriage, the couple were beginning to lose hope, until mirae saw the two blue lines on the pregnancy test and nearly fainted with joy. she took care of her body in every aspect and went to the doctor religiously - perhaps too much. it was a celebration when noah was born, a bright healthy boy with his father's eyes and his mother's smile.
yet, he never really felt like he fit in anywhere. he always had trouble making friends, and he remembers being as young as five and being rejected from a group of boys who just didn't want to play with him. rejection was something noah experienced throughout his elementary years, until he realized that he simply wasn't like anyone else in his school, or anyone around him for that matter.
noah was always a step or two ahead of his peers, whether it was testing out of his classes, or not wanting to play the immature games everyone else wanted to play during recess. there was always a sense of isolation in noah's heart, an annoying lingering of loneliness that made his chest hurt every so often. he was known for being quiet in classes, sick and tired of trying to impress everyone around him. he was a reader, as someone could always find him with his nose deep in any kind of book, some far too mature for his age.
to cope with loneliness, noah began to create intricate worlds in his head, full of characters and detailed storylines that could easily make him daydream for hours on end. he would often find himself listening to music while writing in composition notebooks, another excuse to close himself off from his group of peers in high school. on top of his creative writing, noah found himself writing lyrics and rhymes to the instrumental music he was listening to, linking melodies together to create something that was his own.
noah never cared for highschool and he was relieved when it was over. yet, he never went to homecoming, prom, and he didn't want his senior photo to be in the yearbook but his parents insisted. noah would have opted-out of graduation, but he had to walk across the stage for his mother's sake. highschool was easily a forgettable four year period, therefore, he wasn't too thrilled about college.
he decided to pursue his associate's degree in liberal arts, not really sure as to what he wanted to do as a career - nothing seemed solid or appealing - if anything, he wanted to learn more about himself and focus on his art. in order to gain his parent's financial support, he lied about his enrollment and tells them that he's taking online courses for philosophy.
for now, noah is coasting by in life, working at a local bookstore while staring a house with several other 20-somethings. he is often in his room, smoking/vaping and writing. he performs at some hole-in-the-wall places and uploads frequently to his soundcloud while maintaining his writing blog.
